SHILAU plays a very important role in coordinating Project/Product/Problem Based-Learning (PBL) activities in Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam). PBL is a learning approach in which students acquire knowledge and skills by working over a long period of time to investigate and respond to authentic, interesting, and complex questions, problems, or challenges from a real project and/or problem independently. SHILAU also plays a role in coordinating and documenting Project Review activities carried out by the PBL committee consisting of SHILAU, Center for Research and Community Service (P3M), Departments, and Study Programs. All context information, both problems and projects from various sources, will be reviewed and analyzed before the semester starts. Matters reviewed include feasibility, complexity, competence, learning outcomes, involvement of courses and study programs, Intellectual Property Right, infrastructure needs, costs, team formation, scheduling, etc. Therefore, with this review process it is hoped that besides being able to determine the right PBL team, it can also synergize all “Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi” activities in PBL activities.
